It has 200 inhabitants and it is located in the southwestern part of the island, 35 km away from the city.

It is a mountainous village (382 m. above sea level) and it is hidden amongst luscious olive groves. There’s a road with an amazing view of the sea that leads from Athani to one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, called Porto Katsiki. This beach nestles at the foot of a huge, steep, snow-white mass of rocks.
