The lovely settlement of Myrties counts about 130 permanent residents and is 8 km northwest of the island's capital, opposite the islet of Telendos.

Once it was connected with it and there are daily intineraries with caiques between Myrrties and Telendos. Its few country houses are scattered among lush vegetation. Of particular note are the church of Agios Ioannis Melitsahas with the remains of a Doric temple, marble columns and inscriptions.
