Methana (capital)

It has about 1000 residents and it is located east of Peloponnese, 28 nm away from Piraeus.

It is a volcanic peninsula right in the middle of Argosaronikos. It attracts a lot of tourists, mostly older ones, who visit Methana for the famous hot springs that are supposed to cure the body of many diseases.

Worth seeing

•The volcano of mount Kameni and the remains of the ancient walls, built during the period of the Peloponnesian Wars.
•The village of Palia Loutra near the beach of Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nicolas), where you will find the hot springs.

Where to swim

•At the pebbly beach of Limionas with the red sand, at Agioi Theodori and Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nicolas).You can also try Kounoupitsa and the beach of Paleokastro.
