| Worth seeing |
•The women’s Monastery of Faneromeni. It looks just like a medieval castle and presents special interest because of all the byzantine decorations and wall-paintings. On the 23rd of August the monastery holds one of the island’s most traditional festivals.
•The village of Abelakia. Historically-wise it is very important because it’s where the port of Salamina used to be situated during the ancient times. |
