With approximately 800 residents, it is located southeast on the island and is 4km from Hora.

Mesaria is the heart of the island that never stops beating. The town was inaccessible to early presumptive raiders; lush greenery and blessed with all the goods of the earth, it was an ideal refuge but also the centre for development during the difficult years of the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine monuments were preserved intact, an undeniable witness of the glorious past of the island. Today it remains one of the prettiest farming villages of Andros with distinctive and noteworthy tourist development.
