 Within breathing distance from Athens...
Kea is one of the last earthly paradises of the Aegean, and, in the neighbourhood of Athens. It is an island with a low profile but a high level of aesthetics. Superseded by the tourist admonition, that directed the hordes of tourist to the more ‘cosmopolitan’ choices. It has remained unchanged by the tide of the ages, retaining the traditional rhythms of its life. The landscape consists of a natural backdrop of a mild freshness, with mountains and plains, hillsides of vineyards and fruit orchards, even small forests of oak trees. There are endless beaches and each one is better than the last. The main town, Hora is beautiful and imposing, with her white houses lying out upon the hilltop, under the wakeful eye of ‘Leonda’ (a stone sculpture carved into the rock face, which has become the trademark of the island). Upon arriving at Tzia (as it is also known), you will agree that the island is much more than just a weekend getaway; it is a complete holiday indulgence. |
