It is difficult to imagine this island detached from the goddess of beauty. Even though the famous statue of Aphrodite is, unfortunately, found in the Louvre Museum in Paris, the erotic feeling of the goddess fills the air. Each year, thousands of couples of every age, wash their daily routine off their tired souls in the dreamy waters of Milos. The island has a multi dimensional identity, each just as important and interesting. The famous catacombs stand out alongside, not just a pretty town, but practically out of a movie town Klima, The specific morphology of the earth, in relation to the other Cycladic islands, - apart from Kimolos - contributes to the individual qualities of the therapeutic baths, which are significant part of the attraction of Milos. The island is quite large, the road network is thankfully in good condition and public transport, frequent. This makes it quite easy for visitors to see the ruins of the ancient theatre located a little further out from the catacombs, ‘Kleftika’ or ‘Sea Meteora’ as they are known and other interesting locations. If we consider the museums, the monasteries and the churches, then Milos will seem like a never ending source of wonder. This is her magic…Each day brings a new discovery. |
