Schinousa was the island that pirates sought refuge in, to hide and plan their next raids or divvy up their booty. Today it is the welcome home of fishermen and stockbreeders, that open their arms and welcome visitors with easy conversation. In actual fact it is the two small picturesque towns (Schinousa and Masaria) and the pretty, lee port Mersini that captivates visitors.
