Emporios

Mandraki (capital) | Emporios | Nikia | Pali

Emborios is a picturesque mountainous village built amphitheatrically in a green area, with a few beautiful traditional houses, 7,5 km south-east of Mandraki.

It counts about 50 inhabitants who are mainly farmers and stock-breeders. The village's beautiful traditional houses are built around its only square.

Worth seeing

• From Emborios one can visit the Monastery of Panagia Kira which is in a height of 450 metres offering a unique view to the island and the remains of a Venetian fortress on the outskirts. At a distance of 3 km to the south, it is worth visiting the village Nikia, built on the slopes of the mountain, near the volcano.
