Emporios

Fri or phry (capital) | Agia Marina | Arvanitochori | Emporios

Emborios, 1 km from Fri, has been the island's harbour since early times. Today, it is a tourist resort that lies 700 m. est of Fri; its calm waters are hosts to caiques, since its inhabitants are mostly engaged in fishing. It is the haven of the village of Poli (the old capital of Kassos).

Worth seeing

• The three-aisled basilica church of the Birth of the Virgin. It was built on the site of an ancient temple and an early christian basilica with material used from their remains.
• .The village of Panayia.
• The village of Poli, the old capital of Kassos. A fortress was built in that area. Today, one can only see ruins of the ancient acropolis of the classical times, while in the surroundings area, excavations have brought to light ancient tombs and multitude of invaluable artifacts.
