With 50 residents, it is located northeast on the island, 2km from Hora and is the port of the island.
Psathi is a small summer township practically connected with Hora. You will find most of the residents concentrated in this small town. It is from Psathi that you can visit the most significant archaeological site on the island, Ellinika. There is also ancient city to discover in the crystal clear waters of the beach at Koufou. Some of the buildings of the ancient city protrude through the sea. On the hill of the area, there are also ruins of Mycenaean graves worth exploring. Opposite Ellinika and separated only by a narrow strait is the small islet Agios Yiorgios (also known as Didaskalio). They say that the small isle Agios Andreas used to be attached to Kimolos but was separated by the great earthquake of the early Christian years. |
