With 400 residents, it is located northwest and is 30 km from Hora.
Greenery + marble + stately = one of the best villages in the Cyclades. The marble here is part of the status quo. Crude or well crafted, it prevails in every corner of this impressive village. It is not accidental that it is the birthplace of Yiannouli Halepa, creator of the ‘Koimomeni’ as well as artists such as Nikiforos Litra and D. Fillipoti. The village is also home to the School of Fine Arts and the Sculpture Museum, housed in the original Halepa home. Panormos is the charming little port 4km from the village which the locals claim ‘smells of fresh fish’. |
