They have about 5000 residents and they are located on the south side of the island. Vasiliko is 8 km away from Chalkida, 2 km less than Lefkanti.
The route south of Chalkida goes through Liladio Pedio, one of the most fruitful valleys of Euboea. Chalkida and Eretria spent a whole century fighting over it. 10 km away from Chalkida you will find the village of Vasiliko, home to the family of the 1821 hero, Andreas Miaoulis.
Lefkanti is 2 km away from Vasiliko and it is famous for its beautiful beach and the multitude of fish taverns, but it is mostly known for its archaeological sights, including early temples and cemeteries from the Geometric Age.

•The remains of the frank towers and the tiny church of Agios Stefanos, surrounded by fruit-bearing trees and vineyards.
•The remains of the ancient citadel and the franciscan towers on Kasteli Hill.
•The Monastery of Agios Georgios ARMA on the northeastern side of the valley, in the village of Fila. It was built in 1141 A.D. (which is exactly what the inscription ARMA implies, engraved over the monastery entrance) boasting some 15th century frescos. |
