| It is an abandoned medieval city, built on the side of a hill. During the 9th century it became the capital of the island and a buccaneer hide-out. It was deserted around 1900. On top of the hill, in the middle of an impressively bare landscape reminiscent of Mistras, one can make out the remains of its medieval castle. |
