With 150 residents, it is located northwest, is 6 km from Apollonia and is the main port of the island.
This is the first taste of Sifnos for every visitor arriving by ferry. Even before you disembark, the picture unfolds before you; pretty and welcoming, with white washed homes and chapels that crown the secure port. The well-kept tavernas, the bars, and the many small shops sit harmoniously along the central road, by the sea. In the middle of the frame, the sandy beach stands out, decorated with rows of plump palm trees, providing shade from the hot midday sun. Of special interest are the workshops and pottery exhibitions that are organized. The port also has organized excursions with ‘kaekia’, small steamboats, to the other beaches on the island. |
