(Wide Gulf) With 100 residents, it is located south on the island and 10 km from Apollonia.
The most famous beach on the island is Platis Gialos. With crystal clear blue waters, a golden shoreline and a perimeter of brush, palm trees and farms, it is the most visited beach on the island. It has all the amenities to make every visitor as comfortable as possible – hotels, and rooms to let are numerous and pleasant. The town has upheld and continues the traditional occupation of pottery. |

| Worth seeing |
•The monastery of the Virgin of the Mountain (Panagia tou Vounou) with its important icon of the Panagia of Mahairousas. •See the ancient ruins of the tower that provided the earlier inhabitants, a view for observation in the protection against the pirates. •The uninhabited islet Citriane has its own church, Panagia of Kyprianis and is famous as one of the best fishing spots. |
