Discover the Cycladic dream At the gateway of the Aegean
Until a short while ago, most tourists would pass Kithnos on the decks of their boats, indifferent to its very existence. The island would only see a small number of ‘strange’ types stopover on the island but funnily enough over the years, their numbers kept growing and growing. Visitors began to look beyond the port, and those who chanced a peek were rewarded with a lovely view. Behind the craggy first impressions, one discovers that Kithnos knows how to protect its pure sense of the Cycladic dream. Accessible, calm and picturesque, with traditional architecture, white washed cobble stoned roads and numerous churches, all distinguishing the characteristic Cycladic atmosphere. One is surprised to see amongst the many windmills, - which, during the Golden Age would mill wheat from Russia, - a scene of wonder, that is, a number of huge wind generators and impressive luminous bows of the Wind and Solar Energy parks respectively. Nevertheless, the graphic coves and golden beaches are calm and accessible and preserve your relaxation and the carefree nature of your holiday. Enjoy it… |
