 The village of Lefkos has just a few permanent residents; the coastal village of lefkos is lying 30 km north-west of Pigadia. On the islet of Sokastro in Lefkos, there was the base of operations of Nikifora Foka in the fight at the Arabs (602-610 AD). The islet of Sokastro with its ruined castle is a short boat trip away. It is worth visiting the 14th century small chapel of Agios Georgios and the Roman ruins. |
