Lagadas counts about 6000 parmanent residents, lies in the mainland of the Prefecture and is 21 km from Salonica.

It is known for its mineral water springs and the revival of an age-old religious custom, Anastenaria (Walking on burning coals) on the feast of Saints Constantinos and Eleni.
