The history of Naousa begins in the 14th century, when the christian population of the settlements of Mieza and Kitio gathered in the area of Naoussa and founded a settlement. Due to the general of Mourat B', Ahmet Evrenozoglou, Naousa enjoyed many privileges. Thus, the town turned into a significant financial and cultural center of the central Macedonia. It ows its name to the current waters. It has many beauties such as the water-falls made by Arapitsa river that flows through the town, the sources of Aghios Nicolaos, the Municipal Park with its artificial lake.
