The population is 20.000. It is 20km to the NW of Veria. The history of Naousa begins in the 14th century, when the christian population of the settlements of Mieza and Kitio gathered in the area of Naoussa and founded a settlement. Due to the general of Mourat B', Ahmet Evrenozoglou, Naousa enjoyed many privileges. Thus, the town turned into a significant financial and cultural center of the central Macedonia. It ows its name to the current waters. It has many beauties such as the water-falls made by Arapitsa river that flows through the town, the sources of Aghios Nicolaos, the Municipal Park with its artificial lake. Ruins of a roman building with exquisite mosaics have been found at the site Baltaneto. Nowadays, Naoussa is a wealthy and beautiful town an industrial and agricultural center. It  is famous for its wine, the carnival, the water - falls and its fruits.

• The water-falls of Arapitsa river, where the women drowned themselves to get away fom the Turks.
• Saranta Ouades cave with stalagmites and stalactites.
• The park, which has got a small artificial lake, a zoo and a view of the plain.
• The ski centres of "Selli" and "Tria-Pente Pigadia".
