 It has about 500 residents and it is located on the northeastern side of the island, 102 km away from Chalkida.
This village is perched on the slope of a pine-clad hill. Elinika (which actually means Greek) owes its name to the greek ships that dropped anchor near the village beach before the naval battle of Artemisio.
The beach in question is an absolute gem, pine-clad and perfect for small vessels. The trees are almost touching the water! Across the beach there’s a tiny little island dominated by the church of Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nicolas). You can swim the distance if you want to, it’s quite a pleasant work-out!
