Kassiopi

It has about 1000 residents and you will find it on the northeastern part of the island, 36 km away from the city.

It is a very touristy place right across the Albanian shores. During the Roman period there was a sanctuary dedicated to Zeus in Kassiopi and after it was destroyed, its remains were used to build the church of Panagia (Virgin Mary) Kassiopitra, celebrating on the 8th of May.

•Kouloura, a picturesque little harbor which happens to be the area’s trade mark, 6 km away from Kassiopi

Where to swim

At the beaches just outside the villages of Avlaki and Kalamiona.
