Argalasti counts about 1.500 permanent residents; it is a traditional mountainous village that is the main village of south Pelion and it is about 40 km from Volos. Argalasti is a picturesque village built at the west side of Pelion, looking to the Pagasitic Gulf; it is a thickly populated village known for the well-known traditional architecture of Mt. Pelion. Kalamos is the village's haven.
 
Worth seeing
• The belfry of the church of Agii Apostoli (square of the village);
• The 18th century Monastery of Taxiarches;
• The monastery of Agios Nikolaos, buit in 1732.
 
Where to swim
The beaches to the east of the village are unique. We suggest you to go to Paltsi and melani.
