Elafonissos has 800 permanent residents. is a tiny island, very close to the mainland of Peloponissos (in the district of Lakonia), renowned for its unique 'tropical' beaches; it is  south to Peloponnessos, about 2 nautical miles from Pounta. Ferry boats link the island with Neapolis and Pounta.

It's a dreamy tiny island with lovely beaches and shady areas. Its settlement with the small port where the caiques come and go serving the tourists offers a developing infrastructure that can not cover the increased demand.
