It has about 600 residents and it is centrally located, 31km away from Vathi.

It is a typical mediterranean village of surprising natural beauty, thanks to a wonderful forest and a multitude of fruit-bearing trees and vineyards. The landscape has changed a lot since the destructive fire, but the village remains picturesque, full of traditional houses and narrow cobbled streets. It has a strong tradition in hand-weaved carpets and it holds a big festival every year on the 15th of August.
