It has very few residents and it is centrally located, 20km away from the capital.

It’s a medieval village with very few inhabitants and fantastic architecture. The stone-built houses, abandoned by their residents, have now been turned into beautiful guesthouses. It’s definitely worth taking a walk around the narrow streets of Avgonima before you go to one of the picturesque little taverns in the cobbled square in order to enjoy some of the local delicacies.
