Ambelas is a graphic fishing village full of vineyards, tobacco farms, and lemon groves. For protection against the wind, the locals have planted cane fields. You can still find old-fashioned wine pressers from the times when wine was pressed by foot, to produce the wonderful local wine. Ambelas was an old pirates’ haunt for stocking up on food and water. There are many rooms available and charming tavernas with exceptional food at reasonable prices. Enjoy a swim at the lovely beach in town. |
