With 600 residents, it is located in the centre of the island and 15km from Parikia.
Lefkes is a characteristic Cycladic village despite it being the highest in altitude on Paros, (that is, not a seaside town but rather up in the mountains). Lefkes is full of white washed island homes with olive trees, pine trees, and eucalypts. Apart from the rich vegetation, the graphic laneways and cobble-stoned roads create a sense of well being and contentment. Remnants of an old temple date the earliest constructions in the village as the 16th century AD and believed to have the name Irea. |
