Nea Kalikratia

Nea Kallikratia has about 5.000 permanent residents and lies to the west of the Prefecture.

Nea Kallikratia is a seaside market town and is 42 km. From Salonica. It is the capital of the area of Kallikratia. It is a fast growing community most famous for its tourism and fishing. It was founded by Greek refugees from the Eastern Thrace. The town of Kallikratia has a large shopping area of great interest to tourists.

Worth seeing

• The Petralona Cave, 10 km. from Nea Killikratia. The cave has lots of with stalactites and stalagmites that decorate its mazy passages. The Anthropological Society and the Museum are next to the cave hosting many archaeological finds.

• At the sandy beaches of the area.
