Nea Roda counts about 1000 permanent residents and lies to the north-east of Athos peninsula.

Nea Roda is a beautiful vacation spot with a natural harbour that looks onto the gulf of Akinthos. The village was built by Greek refugees from Asia Minor close to the ruins of Xerxes channel.
