Sarti counts about 1000 permanent residents and lies to the south - east of Sithonia peninsula.

The modern day village of Sarti was created in 1922 by Greek refugees from Asia Minor. Sarti is situated on the south - eastern shores of Sithonia. It was named after the ancient city of Sarti which was probably situated in the same area.
