Neos Marmaras counts about 3,500 permanent residents and lies to the west of Sithonia peninsula.
The market town of Neos Marmaras lies on the peninsula of Sithonia; it is known for its three small natural harbours. It was founded by refugees from Asia Minor after the Asia Minor Catastrophy. Since 1970, it grows fast as a well-organized tourist resort and draws a great number of tourists during the summer months. The hotel complex of PORTO CARRAS is to the south of Neos Marmaras. Over Neos Marmaras it is the Itamos summit of Sithonia with its magnificent view and the coniferous trees. |
